What is bavar 373?

Bavar-373, also known as "Ya Zahra" is a long-range surface-to-air missile system developed by Iran. It was designed to target stealth aircraft, cruise missiles, drones, and ballistic missiles.

The system is equipped with advanced radars and electronics and is capable of detecting and tracking targets up to 300 kilometers away and engaging them at a range of 200 kilometers.

Bavar-373 was officially unveiled in 2016 and went into production in 2018. It was developed as an indigenous alternative to Russia's S-300 missile system, which Iran had been unable to acquire due to international sanctions.

Iran claims that Bavar-373 is superior to the S-300 in terms of range, accuracy, and electronic capabilities. The system has been tested successfully in various military exercises, including a joint exercise with Russian forces in 2019.

The deployment of Bavar-373 is seen as a significant step towards enhancing Iran's air defense capabilities and improving its deterrence against potential threats and aggression.
